The Noise Upstairs will be running a free-improv and experimental music jam night upstairs at The Golden Lion in Todmorden. Perfect, right?

The basic premise is that anyone can turn up and join in by putting their name in the hat. Names are pulled out, ensembles formed, and sounds created (click on the banner image to see this process illustrated by the wonderful Angela Guyton). You’re welcome to just listen if you prefer.

Sandwiched between jam sessions, each month will feature a special guest set, and we'll be joined in February by a fabulous duo of Sam McLoughlin and David Chatton Barker.

We'll be gathering at 7.30pm, and it's all free, albeit with a collection for the guests. Everyone is welcome. Bring instruments, laptops, voices, toys...
