We are delighted to open our 2019 programme with the improvising supergroup of John Butcher, John Edwards and Mark Sanders,

described by the Free Jazz Blog as 'a union of sonic and temporal explorers'.

Having worked together in a variety of different settings over many years, these three phenomenal musicians finally joined forces as a trio in 2016, playing live at London's Cafe Oto and recording their stunning debut album 'Last Dream of the Morning' for Relative Pitch Records.

'Veering from punchy confrontation to breath-held spacious emptiness via distant rumble-gong-shimmer, each track contains more ideas than most other bands' entire albums.' (Jazzwise magazine)

Lucid and captivating free improvisation from three undisputed masters of the art:

John Butcher - saxophones
John Edwards - double bass
Mark Sanders - drums

'A conversation between improvisers that provides nourishment to both the listeners and each player. This music is about the instant. Creation from decades of practice that appears like a lightning strike.' (Mark Corroto ~ All About Jazz)
