Pollen Count
Pollen Count is a new trio of Lou on vocals & loops, Richard Knight on no-input mixer and Keith Jafrate on saxophone, three very different musical personalities each with their own approach, and all active in the Calder Valley’s vibrant music community. Using a mixture of prepared material and improvisation, their music is not fixed in one place, and can swerve from fierce abstraction into a lyrical groove.
Lou performs solo as BLT 63, and her background is in film and performance. She’s a commanding singer, intense and theatrical.
Richard Knight is the genius of no-input science who manipulates noise like a virtuoso soloist. He has played in all kinds of line-ups, with a host of different improvisers.
Keith Jafrate plays with Trio Uroboro, orfeo 5, Wolfscarers, Hornweb and Murmurists. He’s a lyrical player, whether playing free or in time, always in search of the song-line.

Curating a diverse and engaging performance with the hope of sparking new collaborations and further performances. Each event will be billed in advance, but is drawn on an open-call for projects. We will promote established performers alongside a supportive space for newer work. Summit will run on the fourth Thursday of each month at The Eagle Inn, Collier Street, Salford, with a cost-covering entry of £4.
