Suitable for all levels of experience, this Contact Improvisation class will include individual and partner tasks, and explore shifts of weight as a conversation between dancers. We will walk, run, roll and fall, with a focus on the enjoyment of sharing the space together – dancing alongside, with and in contact with others.
The class will involve close contact with other participants, but you are welcome to work exclusively with one dance partner if you prefer.

By Tube:
Central, District or Hammersmith & City Line to Mile End Station. Both stations are in Zone 2. 15 minutes walk to Chisenhale Dance Space (see map).
By bus:
8, 277, 339, D6. All stop at the Roman Rd/Grove Rd junction. 3 minutes walk to Chisenhale Dance Space (see map).
By car:
Parking is restricted around Chisenhale Mon – Sat until 5.30pm. You will need to use the meters in the adjacent streets (£3.60 per hour for a maximum of 4 hours). There is a Disabled parking bay directly outside the building.
Access
Chisenhale Dance Space is on the second floor, accessed only by a staircase, and therefore, regrettably, it is not wheelchair accessible.
The staircase to the lounge and two studios has 40 steps and an uninterrupted banister on the right-hand side. There are no steps or stairs once you are on studio level. We regret that the buzzer is too high to reach from most wheelchairs. Our external fire exit is a straight line of 40 steps with a banister along both sides. Please get in touch if you need to use this exit to enter the building, or if you have any other access requirements.
