Peiriant & MKLordA solo performance from MKLord, bringing his free-jazz interpretations, coupled with Peiriant weaving their artistry into a vivid collection evoking the natural wonders of their Welsh homePieriantViolinist Rose Linn-Pearl and sound artist husband Dan explore the idea of going back to a source in sound, marrying folk textures and techniques with shimmery, modulated guitars and post-rock drones.Living in the mountainous Bannau Brycheiniog, through which the rivers Wye and Usk flow, Peiriant make music that is anchored to that landscape, revelling in its drama and delicacy, frills and fissures.Rose sometimes hacking at her strings before her notes build to a cascade, her violin bursts sounding like the sprays of a river careering into the sea. Then come her folk-evoking fiddle melodies, giving a human dimension. They scrape and fight in the former against Dan’s subaquatic pulses, conveying a mighty power. His practice explores areas of abstraction through Improvisation, Non-Conformist Strategies and Extended Techniques.As a front-man he has led groups such as Flying Fist, Vatican X-ray Dept, Standpipe Siamese, Mr Wasp and the After-Life Club, Poems in Stone and Spina De Mul.As an artist MKLord exhibits and creates commissioned works. He is also interested in exploring the long-form performance format that he begun in 2007 with the piece SWARM #0 which he developed for the 'I am Your Worst Nightmare' festival at the Arnolfini, Bristol in 2007. This then grew into the St Apollonia project that continues to this day. MKLord's writings include pieces for experimental theatre, abstract fiction, poetry and children's stories

NAWR (meaning NOW in Welsh) is a multidisciplinary concert series in Swansea and Hay-on-Wye of experimental music, free improvisation, film, lo-fi, free jazz, sound art, alternative folk and new music.

NAWR was founded by Rhodri Davies, Jenn Kirby, Rose Linn-Pearl, Dan Linn-Pearl and Daryl Feehely.

NAWR SWANSEA is run by Rhodri Davies, Ioan Humphreys, Henry Hobson, Fern Thomas a Nia Davies.

HAY NAWR is run by Rose Linn-Pearl, Dan Linn-Pearl and Jim Kerslake.

NAWR ABERYSTWYTH is run by Lyndon Owen.
