Bangor Tŷ Sain #6 Concert 11.03.2023

The extended session is planned to go ahead.
The concert element is/was cancelled due to travel restrictions caused by the weather.

The workshop, and the ensemble work is proceeding as planned

Concert 11th March

J[a]B[a]W (+Lyn Hodnett)

Seen and heard recently in Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and the Mopomoso in London, J[a]B[a]W is

  • John Jasnoch (12 string & fretless guitars, mandolin),
  • Geoff Bright (sop & bass sax, voice),
  • Gill Whiteley (harmonium, viola, voice). T
  • Plus Lyn Hodnett  Sheffield/Wales-based artist and improvisers on trumpet, cello and extended vocal techniques.

Tŷ Sain series.
The February session is currently an open session, a rehearsal that is developing the formation of a house band Grŵp Cynfas Gwag - Blank Canvas Ensemble Bangor - that will play at every session.
The Tŷ Sain concert team are looking for main acts, as part of the concert programme.
Criteria: A quartet (or more) playing ensemble improvisations made without prior preparartion.

Criteria for participation in the ensemble playing

The event will feature ensemble improvisations under the name of grŵp cynfas gwag
All levels of ability are welcome to join us on the night. Bring what ever is to hand.
Please make contact to share your intentions.
The music starts from a Blank Canvas, it is ensemble improvisations made without prior preparartion.

free, there is no fee at present during 2022.
Charges will be introduced in 2023

Frequency

This events held in the Quaker meeting House Bangor are scheduled to be monthly.
There are plans for weekly events, using a range of venues in North Wales and Online

Free ensemble improvisation in performance. a live music made without prior preparation

Location?

The starting point will be Bangor or Llandudno, but can be delivered anywhere:
The A55 corridor from Chester/Wrexham through to Aberdarron can be considered.

Frequency?

The objective for Improvisers North wales is to make free ensemble improvisation available on a weekly schedule for those who are interested.
Tŷ Sain concert series supports this objective and aims to provided monthly sessions that are part of this schedule.

In some instances (not all) it can offer to cover expenses.
