Cardiff South Wales Improvisers meet April 2022

An open free event for people who are interested in collaborative improvised music.

About

South Wales Improvisers has established itself in partnership with SHIFT Cardiff and creates the opportunity for an individual to play on a ‘regular’ (at least once a month) basis in South Wales free improvised ensemble music.

SW Improvisers welcomes all players of all levels who are interested in exploring new paths to music. Players can come to the sessions freely and without any prior experience. We ask only that you have an open mind, a willingness to listen, to respond and to enjoy.

The format and content style of ‘regular’ sessions featuring free improvisation may vary but the following are examples, and formats we may want to explore :

Workshop sessions
Rehearsal opportunities
Sessions without audiences or an audience of peers
Concerts

About South Wales Improvisers

An action we have taken:

Registration: Enthusiasts, followers, individuals who want to know more have started to register their interest and attend sessions

We have launched the ‘regular’ sessions.

To still do

Agree and set up medium term dates for ‘regular’ sessions we are aiming for 2 per month one evening, one weekend
Longer term planning for performance / concerts and ‘house band’
To agree administrative structures
To adopt a constitution
Agree robust organisational arrangements for the spending and auditing of any funds that may be available.
And thanks for support from Phil Morton Improvisersnetwork.co.uk
