id of Mobius had its roots in a gig at the Kings Arms in Salford. The chance grouping of Shaun, Harry, Ian & Simon received extremely positive feedback with many audience members requesting they 'do it again' sometime. Excursions is exactly that, Id of Mobius 'doing it'.
During the evening a selection of very lovely improvisers from around Liverpool and further afield converge to swap sounds, develop ideas, listen AND respond.

Blistering free improve from this new trio. Building on Mark and Phil's impromptu duo at the Everyman in March 2011, and adding bassist Dominic Lash newly back from a year living and playing in New York. The idea to form a trio was bounced around via email between the three to unanimous and mutual excitement, always a good omen.
Mark Hanslip - tenor sax/flute
Dominic Lash - double bass
Phillip Marks - drums/percussion

Alex Charles builds arching walls of choral singing, buzzing massed synths, twinkling bells, and rattling percussion, before pulling members of the audience into the collaborative Circle of Trust, an exercise in breaking down of barriers between strangers.
He has shared bills with Goodiepal, Mount Eerie, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, YACHT, Bobby Birdman, Lucky Dragons, Ghost Mice, Dennis Driscoll, The Legend!, Part Wild Horses Mane On Both Sides, and many more.
