Pale Blue Dot is a piece of music in four movements,

written by Johnny Hunter for string quartet, tenor saxophone and percussion. Inspired by the iconic photograph taken by Voyager 1 in 1990 in which Earth is seen from a distance of 6 billion kilometers, the piece seeks to provide the listener with the perspective and serenity that might be possible from the outer reaches of our solar system.

'Simultaneously rich and fragile, beautiful original music...' - Jazz at the Lescar

'Drummer Johnny Hunter astonished us with his original music for sax, string quartet and drums. Ambitious, perfectly balanced and full of stillness, a reflective and beautiful antidote to the world outside.' - Northern Jazz Live

Pale Blue Dot will be performed by:

Gemma Bass (violin)
Aby Vulliamy (viola)
Mick Bardon (cello)
Seth Bennett (double bass)
Mark Hanslip (tenor saxophone)
Johnny Hunter (drums and percussion)
