Derry Echo Echo Festival 24.05.2019 MArk Willets

Following the success of our previous festival in 2018, Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company

is excited to host a second international Contact Improvisation Festival in our beautiful space situated in the heart of Derry/Londonderry.

We are interested in and appreciate the natural desire as humans to move and be moved, to celebrate the joy of simply dancing together or on your own. So we warmly invite you to come and join us in a week of dancing!

For the two intensives we have invited:
• Mirva Birgitta Mäkinen (Finland) -- Movable support and Gentle flying technique
• Stephen Batts (Northern Ireland) – The Art of Jamming

For the individual classes we have:
• Jörg Gönner (Germany)
• Olek Wójcik (Northern Ireland/ Poland)
• Ayesha Mailey and Kelly Quigley (Northern Ireland)
• Robert Anderson (England)
• Bodrova Yulia (Russia)

And a few more guest teachers to be named soon!!

The Festival will run from 24th May until 31st May 2019.

This year we have decided to have the first weekend of 25th and 26th dedicated to a variety of classes only. From Monday 27th to Friday 31st, the two intensives, led by Steve and Mirva, will run alongside other individual classes. This will give people the option of attending the full festival or choosing just week of intensives or only the weekend. Prices vary depending on your choice.
