If this is new to you, `what is free improvisation` consider just attending and observing for your first visit.

All levels of ability and experience are welcome.
No need to book just turn up

The current session format is:

  • A series of small group improvisations. Duration 5 -10 minutes each.

  • There is some conversation & discussion between the pieces.

  • There is a social break of 15 minutes at the midway point.

  • The starting point is that there are no workshop type strategies or games, scores or contemporary compositions. The musicians play free improvisation in music in their own time

  • The above having been said, the session may be changed to reflect the social and musical dynamic of those present on the night.

The future design and content of the Jigsaw events will be shaped by those who are involved, attend the sessions and share their feedback.

The sessions are organised by Phil Morton who are looking forward to meeting you; hearing your music and sharing your ideas.
