Jigsaw: A workshop, exploring the nature and practice of free improvisation in music.

Location: The Bluecoat, School Lane, Liverpool L1 3BX
meet 6.45 pm in The Bluecoat Hub.
Session 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm
The sessions take place in the LIC Studio.

The fee is 3 UK pounds
Duration 2 hours.

The sessions are facilitated by Phil Morton,

Phil Morton has substantial experience in the design and delivery of workshop session dealing with creative processes and the act of listening. He has been delivering session and managing projects on the nature and practice of free improvisation in music since 1998.

The shape of the content follows on from a review of those present at each session

All levels of ability and experience are welcome and rewarded.

The Jigsaw workshop series is a gateway to collaborations, research and performance opportunities in the "free improvisation " in the area.

    Jigsaw Workshop Liverpool May 1st- review,
    Five people in the room, just one short of the target 6.
    We did: The counting to 20 exercise, walking, one stop everyone stop (walking), one stop everyone stop (playing music). The later was eplored at different dynamics (volume). Then John Steven's `Click` piece that segued into open `free play`. We finished with a return to the counting exercise.

    Instruments: Flute, trombone, keyboard + misc, 2 x guitars.

    Next session Liverpool - June 5th : LIC Studio @ the Bluecoat.
